What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Safety Specialist position at Martin Grant Associates, Inc.?
An industry leader is seeking a Construction Safety Specialist to support and train clients across Long Island, NYC, and parts of Westchester. This role is ideal for a confident and articulate safety professional who can engage with diverse construction site teams, manage complex personalities, and command a room.
Prior experience in construction safety and OSHA certification is required. CR-59 certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months) is preferred.
The Job:
- Conduct monthly safety visits to client construction sites and deliver tailored reports
- Provide safety training and ensure compliance with state regulations, including OSHA and NYS CR-59
- Work closely with clients (contractors, subcontractors, trades such as HVAC, sheet metal, and woodworking) to assess job sites and mitigate risk
- Act as a trusted partner to underwriters and claims teams, advocating on behalf of clients with the NY State Insurance Fund
- Serve as a resource and advisor for both field staff and client leadership on safety matters
- Travel 2-3 days per week throughout Long Island, NYC, and Westchester (mileage reimbursed)
