We are a large Commercial General Contractor seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to join our Procurement Department as an Estimator for Healthcare Projects.

- Read and outline project specifications.
- Discuss and establish bid strategies, concerns, and advantages.
- Define major or priority subcontractors.
- Direct Plans Coordinators for vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination using SmartBidnet.
- Establish, write and review work scopes for subcontractors.
- Conduct pre-bid meetings with MHC Operations personnel and Subcontractors as needed.
- Assist with operations staff on project logistics, staging, phasing plans, and coordination -Set-Up Bid Day Summaries and General Requirements Set up bid spreadsheets or conceptual spreadsheets to complete a bid.
- Accurately take-off as required for CSI Divisions 1-46
- Price items of both self-performed and sub-contracted work on a unit-priced basis.
- Utilize Subcontractor and Field Production Data to establish database pricing.
- Improve existing subcontractor relationships & get to know the subcontractors/suppliers.
- Monitor coverage with the Plans Coordinators and solicit new subcontractors to bid.
- Responsible for review and execution of bid forms, bid bonds, etc. on bid projects.
- Review estimates for accuracy, constructability and risks.
- Rely on judgment and experience to plan and establish deadlines.
- Assist Estimating Department as needed to facilitate teamwork.
- Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures, technology, & programs within the construction field.
- A certain degree of creativity and innovation is required - out-plan your competition.
- Candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years' experience as an estimator in Healthcare Construction.
- Candidate should have experience with projects over $5 Million.
- Must be able to lead an estimate and take full charge of a Public Works or Private Client bid.
- Ability to use strategic and innovative methods to obtain sub coverage for bids, especially in new geographic areas.
- Experience with self-performance of concrete and carpentry highly desired.
- Must be able to schedule, be proficient in Timberline, DESTINI, OST, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
