What are the responsibilities and job description for the School-Age Summer Camp Room Lead position at Mary Johnson Children's Center?
Summary
Full-Time Seasonal Summer camp position with the Mary Johnson Children's Center school-age program. We serve children who have completed K up until they are about to enter 6th grade.
This will be a 7-9 week position, we are currently working on a schedule with the school district but are hoping to start this position on June 16th and end on August 12th or 19th.
Duties
Work with other staff in developing a schedule that reflects and balances active and quiet play, indoor and outdoor choices. Assume equal responsibility for supervising all types of activity.
Maintain confidentiality, as it applies to children, families, staff members and Mary Johnson Children's Center policies.
Requirements
Sufficient maturity and judgment to function as a member of a team in an emergency.
Ability to seek, accept and use supervision constructively.
Ability to maintain and thrive in an atmosphere of positive and appropriate behavior guidance.

Duties
- Manage 4 staff who will work with you in the classroom.
- Care for 18-26 children daily.
- Create daily indoor and outdoor activities for children to participate in.
- Assure the condition of the program space, including-safety, noise, neatness, choice of materials, care of materials and clean-up.
- Communicate with parents in informal conversations on a daily basis.
- Demonstrate a respect for children; speak with interest and concern.
- Create an environment in which children are encouraged to explore materials, ask
- questions and have easy access to staff members as resources.
- Be involved with groups of children in activities.
- Maintain appropriate levels of supervision at all times. Refer to site director to insure
- proper staffing levels are in effect throughout the days, as per state licensing regulations.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations; seek help when necessary.
