Peer Note Takers are students who agree to take and provide notes in classes they are already taking to qualified students with a disability as per the student's accommodation plan.
Job Requirements:
Attend class on a regular basis and take comprehensive, legible (when applicable) notes.
Convey the information accurately to the best of their ability.
Provide notes to Disability Resources within 24 hours after class.
Keep all information about note taking services confidential at all times.
Notify the Assistant Director of Disability Resources of any issues that arise.
Additional Information:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Good language skills (accurate spelling, grammar, etc.).
Good organizational skills, punctual, dependable, and reliable.
Legible handwriting.
Good typing skills.
Ability to listen and store information while writing or typing with speed and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Be able to use their own supplies such as a laptop when composing their notes.
Be able to provide notes to Disability Resources in electronic format.
Have a positive attitude towards equality and access for people with disabilities.
This position is only open to current MCLA students.
