Job Description:
The Pension/Annuity Project Specialist will be responsible for working on projects in the Retirement Benefit Services Department, defining project goals and objectives with management, and addressing tasks to be completed for each project. The Project Specialist role is a critical position within the department, responsible for working on various projects to ensure the department’s goals and objectives are met.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Providing strategic direction, technical analysis, and guidance for all Pension and Annuity Projects.
· Defining project goals and objectives with management.
· Identifying and addressing tasks to be completed for each project.
· Auditing accounts and correcting financial errors.
· Collaborating with the manager, director, auditors, and actuaries to ensure project success.
· Researching and analyzing systems problems to identify flaws in the ISSI processing system or processes and procedures.
· Documenting steps in all processes and procedures for other staff members.
· Completing daily, monthly, and yearly administrative tasks.
· Answering phone calls, meeting with members and retirees and attending to other operational work as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework and work experience.
· 3 years’ experience working with Taft-Hartley, multi-employer retirement plans.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to use complex formulas for data analysis and reporting.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
· Strong research and analytical capabilities.
· Knowledge of regulatory and legislative policy surrounding multi-employer benefit plans.
· Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relay complex information for a variety of audiences.
· Exceptional problem-solving skills, demonstrating critical thinking, decision making, and creativity.
· Collaborative team player with the ability to work well with both internal and external stakeholders.
· Detail-oriented, with proven ability to prioritize tasks, understand key objectives, meet project deadlines, and display ethics and values in all actions.
· Knowledge of ISSI/Bridgeway Benefits Administration System preferred.
This is a bargained union position with strong union benefits.
Salary : $83,800 - $97,800
