Position Summary
The Program Coordinator will support planning, logistics, and delivery of MassBioEd’s core workforce training programs. The consultant will work with multiple team members, clients, and external stakeholders to coordinate day-to-day operations of our training and education programs as well as supporting key operational and communications functions of the organization.
Responsibilities
While exact responsibilities will shift over time pending program priorities and needs, examples of core responsibilities may include:
- Supporting candidate recruitment for our workforce training programs, including: Fielding questions from the program email inbox, managing logistics for candidate skills testing, including sign-ups, registrations, proctoring, and results reporting; scheduling program interviews and sending reminders to candidates; emailing, calling, and tracking candidate references and collating apprentice interview and reference notes onto employer outreach material
- Supporting training program implementation to include: Creating and sending out program feedback surveys; supporting instructor scheduling and management, including contacting instructors about teaching availability and coordinating instruction with training cohort schedules; sending email reminders to trainees about program details and schedules; scheduling and planning events for program trainees and supporting data collection and coordination for training programs
- Supporting communications activities of MassBioEd
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong administrative, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with impeccable attention to detail.
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable with assignments based on program needs and priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software.
- Experience taking initiative to solve problems independently and creatively in a fast-paced environment and delivering results while managing competing priorities.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, and our corporate and community partners.
- Interest in science education and/or workforce development evidenced by a sense of energy, ownership, and personal connection to the work, the communities we serve, and our volunteers and donors.
Working Days/Hours and Compensation
This is a 3-month contract role with the option to renew pending program needs and the performance. 16-20 hours per week (during regular business hours), with Tuesdays in the office in Kendall Square, Cambridge and the remainder of the time remote and flexible during the standard workweek. Compensation: $80/hour.
