What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Services Technician position at MASTER ENVIRONMENTAL INC?
Master Environmental is seeking a person who is a highly motivated, self-starter that can operate heavy trucks safely and efficiently both interstate and intrastate. This position consists mainly of loading and unloading both nonhazardous and hazardous waste for safe transport from multiple vendors/customers daily. We transport both liquid and solid waste which requires an active Class A CDL with a tank endorsement and the ability to pass a background check as well as obtain and keep the required DOT medical license. We pick up waste in small to large box utility trailers, small pickups, pump trucks and tractor/trailer combination tanker trucks. We transport from the vendor/customer sites to the disposal site. Master Environmental is seeking someone who can learn under direct supervision to safely recognize waste streams, package waste safely and securely, load it into the truck, Secure loads and then transport it to its destination. Our pump trucks would require an operator who understands the basic rules of liquid transportation safely from origin to destination. Our trucks run electronic logs and require a basic understanding of how to log in and out as well as run paper logs in the event of an electronic failure or lost connection.
Skills: Must have a valid CDL with driving and at least 2 years of driving experience. Can operate trucks with both automatic and standard transmissions. Clean driving record. Ability to obtain hazardous materials and tanker endorsement within 3-6 months of hire date. Pay incentive / increase upon endorsement completion. Be able to pass the TSA background check. Can travel and at times, be out of town overnight/s. Can lift up to 100 pounds. Have a basic understanding of computers, cell phones and tablets. Have the ability to resolve problems and seek guidance for more complex problems. Strong reading and writing skills. Can operate safely and legally on all state and federal highways. Can understand and operate an electric log for DOT regulations. Can load and unload trucks and trailers using basic equipment such as a pallet jack and/or drum dolly. Process a basic understanding of workflow dynamics and scheduling. Be a self-starter and adjust as needed when workflows change. Willingness to learn to operate new equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklift. Good communication skills, work efficiently and effectively in both team and individual environments.
