Mater Dei High School, a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school of the Diocese of Orange has an immediate opening for a Long-Term Substitute Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate must demonstrate current knowledge of the subject area and be a dynamic and dedicated educator to serve in the department.
Date Range: February 19, 2025, to June 6, 2025
Daily Rate: $215 to $301
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and Teaching Credential in Social Studies
- High school teaching experience preferred
- CPR Certified
Qualified candidates will be able to:
- Support a student-centered atmosphere implementing a Problem Based Learning Plan and execute lessons that are data driven, incorporate research-based methodologies, and are designed to engage and support all learners.
- Design learning experiences for students that place value on innovation, inquiry, and creativity.
- Offer collaborative and individual learning opportunities that support student growth.
- Incorporate educational technology into the classroom in an authentic manner to enhance the learning experience.
- Actively collaborate with fellow teachers to design lessons, analyze data, and write common assessments.

- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an classroom setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
