**Job Summary:** We are seeking an exceptional Assistant General Manager to join our Matiki Family. This individual will play a critical role in managing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that our customers receive an exceptional experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities:** - Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day management of the restaurant, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and ensuring that all staff members are adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to the management team, including training and development of staff members.
- Oversee the front-of-house operations, including coordinating catering and special events. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure that food quality and presentation meet the highest standards.
- Manage labor costs, maintaining inventory levels
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring that all staff members are adhering to health and safety standards.
- Provide help and support to staff members, including training and mentoring where necessary.
- Assist in the hiring and training of new staff members, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver exceptional service to our customers.
- Manage the restaurant's inventory and ordering process, ensuring that all stock is ordered and received in a timely manner.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of staff members.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale systems.
- Experience in food preparation and presentation, with a passion for delivering high-quality dishes.
- Experience in catering and special events, with the ability to coordinate and manage events from start to finish.
- Knowledge in Polynesian cuisine and culture
