Construction Estimator duties and responsibilities
- GB98 contractor's license is preferred
- Explore documentation in order to gain a thorough understanding of the project requirements.
- Select, measure, and track important metrics.
- Visit sites, warehouses, and other venues necessary to complete the estimate.
- Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics.
- Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts.
- Conduct complex risk analysis activities.
- Create and present reports to upper management.
- Analyze and evaluate offers.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors.
- Buyout of subcontracts after project award
Construction Estimator requirements
- Previous working experience as construction estimator for 5 years
- GB2 or GB98 contractor's license is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of project management
- Hands on experience with complex data research activities
- Good understanding of data analysis methods and KPIs
- Familiarity with computer programs such as Timberline or ProContractor by Viewpoint
- Familiarity with RS Means
- Good time-management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Critical-thinker and problem-solver
- Extremely Proficient in pre-construction
- Ability to budget with partial plans or concept drawings.
- Proficient in on screen takeoff
- Ability to write detailed scope sheets for sub-contractors.
- Proficient in understanding federal solicitations.
- Ability to produce both technical and price responses to RFPs.
- BS in engineering, construction science or similar relevant field

- GB98 contractor's license is preferred
