The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for auditing all invoices and applying account codes for processing. Match invoices with proper purchase orders. Resolve problems with vendors on the telephone and research problems.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $27.00 / hour
Hybrid position
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process all invoices by matching with purchase order and audit all invoices.
- Codes for inputting into the A/P or I/P system.
- Verifies that vendor is licensed.
- Deal with Vendor Licensing when needed.
- Handle vendors on the telephone when problems arise.
- A/P system batching, voucher proof verification and posting.
- I/P system batching, voucher proof verification and posting.
- Check printing and match verification for signatures.
- Maintain purchase order log for approvals and issues for incoming purchase orders and file.
- Handle vendors' phone calls and make calls to vendors when needed.
- Fill out Vendor Master File.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous Accounts Payable experience and knowledge that includes:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 Years’ experience in accounts payable or accounting environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information.
- Planning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
- Knowledge of general ledger posting process and experience preparing and posting journal entries.
- Problem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
- Quality management—the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Self-starter who can take initiative and follow through on projects and tasks.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with team members and management.
- Ability to understand and comply with all departmental and company rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
