What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at Maxima Apparel?
This position is based on-site at our US Headquarters in Westbury, NY
The Vice President of Accounting & Finance will be responsible for the financial controls for Maxima Apparel Corp and all of its family of brands and subsidiaries across the globe. Leading financial strategy and management, this role will oversee teams in various geo-locations in all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, reporting, payroll, audits, and regulatory compliance. The VP of Accounting Finance will report to the CEO and partner with the executive team in Human and Financial capital management.

Our resources are predominantly offshore-based, and as such, collaboration with them is essential for our operations. Working seamlessly with our offshore colleagues is integral to achieving our goals and delivering exceptional results for our stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
- Own all general accounting functions in compliance with GAAP including monthly financial closing process. Control and manage AP, AR, Collections, and for all international teams in 4 geo-locations including USA, MXO, IND, CHN.
- Maintain a system of accounting policies and procedures with a set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the Company’s reported financials.
- Manage the accounting teams globally.
- Prepare, and file Annual Corporate tax filings, and Shareholder tax filings, sales tax filings for all sales verticals including Wholesale, Retail, and Ecommerce.
- Prepare, and file international subsidiary tax-filings including VAT/GST management.
- Manage the payroll functions with site leaders in all locations and all Human Capital Management strategies while adhering to regulatory compliance.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to the organization and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability including preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

What do you need?
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role.
- Industry Experience Preferred – Apparel, Fashion, Consumer Goods
- Proven track record of financial leadership, strategic planning, and driving results in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
