Position Overview
The Painter I position is an introduction to painting aircraft parts. You will be cleaning or prepping surfaces of parts and getting familiar with our paint processes. You will be responsible for setting up the equipment used to apply paint. All paint processes will be performed in accordance with customer specifications and requirements. Work will be done under close supervision.
Duties And Responsibilities
1st shift: 6:45am - 3:00pm
2nd Shift: 2:45pm - 11:00pm
3rd Shift: 10:45pm - 7:00am
This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)., Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information. The ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Learn & understanding practical painting processes and procedures
- Read and understand traveler instructions and special notes
- Learning basic knowledge on prepping parts including sanding, flipping, and racking parts, this will include various sizes, lengths, shapes, and weights
- Learn mixing portions of paint. (i.e., thinners, polyurethane)
- Familiarization of paint guns, equipment & tooling
- Count and record number of pieces being painted
- Adheres to company policies, quality procedures and safety standards
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Ability to read and interpret process specifications, procedures, and customer purchase orders
- Ability to solve practical process or procedural problems/issues
- Must have good penmanship
- Able to maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Basic computer skills. (i.e., MS Office)
- 6-month experience
- Work is performed in a typical processing environment.
- Prime and Paint are done in a booth with either a full-face respirator or supplied air hood.
- Use and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to walking, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, transporting supplies or equipment, sitting or standing for extended periods of time & occasionally lifting & carrying items which may weigh up to 25 lbs. & occasionally up to 50 lbs.
