Under general supervision, instructor will teach small group of adult students (12 to 15) within local prison facility. Course content includes teaching skills in reading, writing, and mathematics to help students prepare to earn the High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma. Instructor will assist students in learning specified subject matter using curriculum provided by the College. Students vary in skill levels, cultural backgrounds, and life experiencesSchedule: 2 days/week, 8 AM until 3 PM (with 1-hr lunch) Rate: $18 per hour
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Delivers engaging instructional activities and lessons for adult learnersDiscusses and helps set appropriate goals with each student (academic, employment, community)Keeps accurate records Maintains positive, professional relationships and communication with students as well as college and prison staffCommunicates effectively with others in person, through email, and by telephoneParticipates in staff development sessions, trainings, and other college functions as appropriateNo outside class duties required
