Job Description
The Business Analyst (BA) will provide technical program support to state and contracted IT professionals throughout all phases of assigned projects. Key responsibilities include gathering information from various sources, ensuring documented requirements are met, and facilitating the development process. The BA will play a critical role in retiring legacy technologies and promoting a future-state vision aligned with company needs.
Responsibilities
- Gather information from business and technical teams, as well as legacy documentation, during the project’s inception to develop project scope and general requirements.
- Ensure requirements are met throughout design, development, and testing phases.
- Develop and refine user stories to meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) and manage the user story lifecycle.
- Create supporting artifacts such as journey maps, business workflows, and enterprise analysis templates based on interviews with technical and business teams.
- Assist the product owner in writing requirements, defining acceptance criteria, and managing user stories through the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Collaborate closely with the development team to validate code against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Assist with creating and coordinating test plans and test case creation based on business process understanding.
- Facilitate engagements between product owners, business stakeholders, and development team members as needed.
- Support the release management team with code/data deployment to production when development is complete.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a legacy application support and development environment, including managing the user story lifecycle (creating requirements, adding business artifacts, writing acceptance criteria, and migrating user stories).
- 5 years of experience creating key deliverables (e.g., traceability matrix) using tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, Visio, or similar diagramming software.
- 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in large-scale, enterprise-level applications.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse business and technical staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with or within the State of Ohio or the public sector.
- Experience with COBOL applications.
Salary : $40 - $45
