Location: West Sacramento, California or Indianapolis, Indiana

Salary: $150,000-$175,000/year DOE

Medical benefits-eligible first of the month following 28 days of employment. All other benefits-eligible first of the month following 90 days of employment.

Position Overview: The Director of Commercial Services is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the commercial services strategy to enhance customer centricity, expand customer relationships, and efficiently structure customer segmentation. This role involves managing a team, developing and implementing commercial policies, and fostering strong relationships with customers and partners. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial management, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Amount of Travel Involved: 75%.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the commercial services team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Promote professional development and continuous learning within the team.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective service and issue resolution.
  • Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continually improve services.
  • Develop and manage the commercial services budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare regular reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to align the customer base.
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships to enhance service offerings and align the appropriate customer segmentation.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and manage ongoing partner relationships.
  • Leverage partnerships to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of commercial services.
  • Regularly review and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Extensive travel.
  • Participate in all company Safety programs.
  • Actively participates in sales training and commits to continuous learning.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.

Education:

Bachelor degree in Business Management or Marketing, preferred.

Minimum of 5-7 years direct sales related work experience (preferably in beverage or contract manufacturing sales). At least 5 years in a leadership role.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Employee works indoors in normal office working conditions a majority of the time and may require some work in the manufacturing facility. While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold and extreme heat. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but the employee may occasionally be exposed to high level noises including but not limited to manufacturing equipment.
