What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at McCluskey Chevrolet?
As the Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for providing human resources support to the organization in the areas of employee relations, leave management, onboarding, payroll support, and all other areas assigned by the Human Resources Director.
A SHORT LIST OF YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Point of contact for all employee relations matters and conducts thorough team member investigations while making the determination on appropriate action. Coaches managers/supervisors on performance management, policy administration, and all other employee relations matters. Escalates complex or sensitive issues to the Human Resources Director as needed.
- Manage the leave of absence program including FMLA, STD, LTD, and Worker’s Compensation leaves. Collaborate closely with outside vendors in these areas to ensure an efficient process and that we are meeting all legal obligations.
- Manage the onboarding process by launching background checks and pre-employment drug screens for all new hires and making sure all team members are uploaded in our HRIS.
- Present New Hire Orientation to all new team members on their first day of employment.
- Ability to back up the Payroll Coordinator as needed for payroll processing.
- Administer and conduct new hire surveys and exit interviews.
- Stay up to date on all Human Resources related trends in the industry. Actively look for ways to improve the department and to streamline processes and procedures.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR A SELF-STARTER WHO MEETS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 or more years relevant experience in Human Resources
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft office including word, excel and power point required
- Proficient with Payroll and HCM systems
