The Hours of Service (HOS) Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization's adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations regarding driver Hours of Service. This individual collaborates closely with the Safety Director, Area Leads, Operations Manager, and drivers to maintain compliance, improve processes, and address compliance concerns efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Safety Director and HR with generating HOS reports and implementing compliance programs.
- Communicate with the Safety Director, Area Leads, and drivers regarding compliance issues and concerns.
- Train the HOS team on day-to-day tasks and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to the HOS team, operations personnel, and drivers on HOS-related issues and questions.
- Audit driver logs (electronic and paper) to ensure compliance with HOS regulations.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to address and resolve serious route or driver issues.
- Continuously review and improve processes related to login, unassigned driving, personal conveyance, yard moves, and other HOS compliance matters.
- Stay informed about new DOT compliance laws and regulations and alert the Safety Director of any updates.
- Assist in maintaining the integrity of key systems
- Perform additional duties as needed to support safety and compliance initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, particularly HOS compliance requirements.
- Experience auditing driver logs and addressing compliance issues.
- Proficiency in transportation software systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and collaborate effectively with teams.
- Problem-solving skills and a process improvement mindset.
- Ability to work closely with safety, HR, and operations teams to address complex issues.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
