Position Summary:
The Pipe Crew Laborer supports the installation of underground utilities such as water, sewer, and storm drain systems. This position involves physical labor, use of hand and power tools, and close coordination with operators and other crew members to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient job site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation of water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater drainage systems
- Support the excavation and backfilling of trenches with hand or small tools
- Check pipe grades and alignment to ensure proper installation
- Assist with pipe and structure placement under the direction of the Pipe Foreman
- Operate hand and power tools (saws, compactors, lasers, etc.) safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite by removing debris and organizing materials
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Support operators and other crew members as needed on the job site
- Report any safety concerns or equipment issues to supervisors
Requirements:
- Previous experience in underground utility installation or construction preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Familiarity with construction tools and equipment
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
