The Job:
MKCI is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our General Liability and Mass Torts Litigation teams. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in litigation and a strong understanding of legal procedures and documentation. All MKCI attorneys and legal professionals are trained to utilize the latest AI technologies for legal research and litigation assistance from case intake through trial.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and trial.
- Draft and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and subpoenas.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
- Organize and maintain case files, documents, and medical records.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts.
- Prepare deposition and trial exhibits.
- Billing for time.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing a large case load and cases involving numerous defendants or multi-district litigation where numerous counsel are involved in the defense of the same client
- Minimum of two years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Paralegal certification or degree in paralegal studies is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes and legal documentation.
- Proficient in legal research and legal software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as with others.
