What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Employee - Weather Tech/ Planetarium position at McHenry County College?
Workweek
Weather Office hours and Planetarium hours are flexible based upon Student's schedule. Planetarium hours are also associated with various show times and dates. Student employees cannot work more than 20 hours a week.
Position Summary
Presenting general public planetarium shows and helping with school shows. Students will learn how to operate the planetarium and get training on working with equipment and presenting shows.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- To assist in the daily collection, analysis, and display of climate and weather data from MCC's weather office.
- Prepare daily weather maps, forecasts, daily climate records, and monthly climate summaries.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent English communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products
- Passing grade in EAS 120/180
- Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above (if first semester student, GPA requirement is waived
UPON HIRE:
- Must complete background check
- Must compete New Hire Training
- Must complete Onboarding Forms via Softdocs
