What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bridge Painting - Inspector position at MCI Momentum Consulting?
A. Oversee third-party contractors performing lead abatement and painting.
B. Verify contractors’ monthly submittals including certified payrolls, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (“DBE”), Minority Business Enterprise (“MBE”), and Women-Owner Business Enterprise (“WBE”) updates, schedules, requisitions for payment, work plans, and shop drawings accuracy and completeness.
C. Coordinate with Senior Inspectors to review third-party invoices.
D. Navigate around sites that may include inclined embankments, train tracks and ballast, and lifted work platforms.
E. Provide updates to MTA C&D and/or LIRR personnel immediately in urgent circumstances on various Project sites.
F. Ensure work is performed in a safe, productive manner.
G. Document work performed and prepared daily inspector report Manual for Uniform Record Keeping (“MURK Format”).
H. Ensure work is executed in accordance with LIRR and MTA C&D procedures and guidelines for design and construction.
I. Comply with safety and quality requirements of the Projects.
J. Utilize the electronic filing system per LIRR and MTA C&D policy.
K. Obtain Roadway Worker Protection training.
L. Coordinate LIRR flag protection for third-party contractor(s).
M. Assist with planning, coordinating, and tracking outages and foul time as required for construction activities.
N. Other related work.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A. Relevant experience in bridge painting, construction, and inspection. Experience in railroad operations, preferred.
B. Association for Material Protection and Performance (“AMPP”) Coatings Inspector (CIP Level I Certification) or Bridge Coatings Inspector Level I (BCI I Certification). Certifications must be maintained throughout this task order.
C. Completed the OSHA 30 training class within the past five (5) years.
D. Experience in overseeing contractor’s work.
E. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
F. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Suite including, but not limited, to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
G. Experience reading and interpreting contract specifications and construction plans including containment and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Drawings.
H. Must have the ability to travel between various jobsites quickly and efficiently.
I. Experience performing visual and physical inspections as defined by AMPP requirements.
