What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print and Mail Services Assistant position at McKendree University?
The Office of Printing and Mail Services provides efficient, cost-effective, quality document print, finishing, and mail services to the University community. The Printing and Mail Services Assistant is responsible for supervising student workers in handling and distributing incoming and outgoing USPS mail and inter-departmental deliveries, as well as assist in managing inventory and supply orders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working knowledge of digital production copiers
- Working knowledge of mail processing equipment
- Ability to pick-up, sort, and distribute campus mail on a daily basis
- Working knowledge of postal rates, and shipping procedures
- Multi-departmental support within Operations to include set up for events (tents, tables/chairs).
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Workable knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe applications including Outlook, Excel, Publisher, & Photoshop
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, possibly up stairs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in a related field
- Experience in a printing environment
Work Conditions:
- 40 hours per week; normally 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Required to visit other campus buildings and offices. Required to drive University vehicles.
- Required to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
