McMillan Pazdan Smith is seeking to hire a dynamic Controller to join our Greenville, SC office location. The Controller collaborates closely with the Director of Finance & Accounting. This position is responsible for a variety of accounting and financial transactions. This includes actively participating in month end closing activities, account reconciliations, financial statements, various account analysis, and the preparation/review of journal entries. This position will be required to perform a wide variety of accounting work and provide opportunities for outstanding experience and exposure in different business areas. This is a hands-on position and should be a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for all aspects of the month end close process.
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems
- Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures
- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
- Oversee the payroll process
- Create companywide budget and forecasts with oversight from the Director of Finance & Accounting
- Coordinate all outside accounting firm’s review and tax activity
- Ad hoc financial analysis of financial and operating metrics to support business requirement
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in accounting, finance, or related field
- Ten years year of strong and progressive accounting and analysis experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook,and Excel software
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems
- Superior numeric skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to effectively and confidently prioritize and execute tasks with many competing priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to provide excellent customer service (internally and externally)
- Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction firm
- ERP implementation experience
- CPA/MBA
- Experience with Deltek Vision software
