McMorrow Law, LLC, located in Wexford, is searching for a legal assistant or paralegal with the desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented law office.
The ideal candidate must be able to manage, organize, and prioritize a large volume of projects in support of several practice areas including, Family Law and Orphans’ Court Litigation. Duties may include trial preparation, deposition summarization, drafting pleadings and discovery requests, scheduling, and review of records, as well as creating estate planning documents. He/She will be able to demonstrate a strong background in customer and client service, above average computer skills and aptitude, a genuine eagerness to solve problems and achieve results, and a working knowledge of office tasks and procedures.
In addition to the above responsibilities, administrative duties may include drafting correspondence copying, scanning, managing attorney calendars.
We are looking for a strong team player with one or more years of legal assistant or paralegal experience and excellent computer and writing skills; college degree preferred.
Required experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint
- Proficient with legal research tools, including Westlaw or Lexis
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage projects, follow through on assignments and manage deadlines
- High degree of initiative, attention to detail and accuracy, and timeliness
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to establish positive relationships at all levels
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deal with time sensitive issues in an effective manner
- Work well with others (us, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel)
