Position Overview:
As the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for leading financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop strategies that optimize financial performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership skills, analytical expertise, and a deep understanding of financial best practices.
Key Responsibilities: The Director of Finance plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring efficient financial operations and strategic planning.
- Design and execute financial strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Oversee financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, offering insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to optimize financial stability.
- Evaluate financial data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue growth strategies.
- Implement effective inventory management and financial controls to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate financial management with operational objectives.
- Develop and present financial reports and insights to stakeholders, including the executive team and board of directors.
- Track and assess financial performance against set targets, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Identify and resolve financial challenges efficiently.
- Establish and manage the company’s financial IT systems for streamlined operations.
- Set performance targets and oversee accounting and finance personnel, including management accountants and internal auditors.
Education, Qualifications & Skills
The Director of Finance role requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, with an emphasis on certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Candidates must have at least five years of progressively responsible experience in financial management and leadership.
A successful Director of Finance must combine technical expertise with strong communication skills. The following qualifications and abilities are crucial for success in this role:
- Strong proficiency in financial software and tools, including QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
