We have been serving a WONDERFUL gentleman that has been transtioned to 24/7 care. He is self-sufficient for the most part but will need assistance with household chores, running errands, and assuring he doesn't fall. He is a fall risk. He is super FUN and is a pleasure to be around and serve!!! This position VERY rewarding! WE will TRAIN as well if you have NO EXP!!

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have experience in various supportive roles.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Provide patient monitoring to ensure health and safety, including taking vital signs as needed.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance the social well-being of clients.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs, focusing on memory care and hospice care when applicable.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and organized.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and social workers, to deliver comprehensive care.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
• Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel.

Experience

• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Familiarity with memory care techniques and hospice care practices is a plus.
• Skills in patient monitoring and vital signs assessment are beneficial.
• Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
• A background in social work or related fields can enhance your candidacy.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
