Meadows Swim and Tennis Club Overview

The Meadows is a private swim and tennis club which has over 400 members with an outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and a clubhouse. We have year-round tennis programs for adults and junior players. Our outdoor pool features a robust swim team, a diving well, and a fantastic pool deck that includes outdoor grills.

Job Summary

The main objective of this position is to ensure a safe and clean pool facility for the membership and guests from mid-May through early September. To further the club’s mission and vision, the Pool Manager is responsible for all aspects of the outdoor aquatic facility including programming, lifeguarding, and daily operations of the swimming pool and surrounding pool area. The Pool Manager also ensures that all lifeguards and swim instructors fulfill their job responsibilities as stated in their job description.

• Base salary (May 18 through September 1): $11,000 for the season.
• End of season bonus: Up to 5% of base salary upon successful completion of the season. Successful completion is meeting the goals and objectives outlined in the job description.
• Hours: 20-30 hours/week or as necessary to deliver a quality program and meet the goals and objectives of the position.
• Club usage: Privileges for you and your significant other as outlined in employee manual.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certified
• CPR/ AED and first aid certified
• WSI certification preferred
• CPO certification preferred
• Two or more years pool supervisory work in an outdoor pool setting, or indoor recreation center preferred.
• Proven water rescue skills and training.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with children and adults in a friendly, yet authoritative manner.

Overview of responsibilities:

• Aquatic staff hiring, scheduling, training/coaching, payroll approval.
• Ensures all pool policies and safety procedures are consistently enforced.
• Delivers an exceptional member experience and follows up on any member inquiries.
• Develops, promotes, implements and supervises programs for all levels of swimmers including private and group swim lessons, and pool programming.
• Works with General Manager and Maintenance to ensure that all aspects of pool maintenance are fully functioning including chemical levels, pool temperature and optimal performance of mechanical equipment.
• Works with the Leadership team and front desk staff to ensure that social events are coordinated around aquatics functions with minimal impact.
• Supervises staff to ensure that pool area, locker rooms, pergola, lawn surrounding pool, chairs, pool equipment, etc. are kept organized and in an orderly fashion.
• Works with GM to ensure monthly budget numbers are adhered to and participation and revenue goals are being met.
• Daily observation and assessment of all aquatics staff and their performance.
• Works with Leadership Team to develop timely and accurate program related marketing and communications; produces and ensures distribution of appropriate information to promote programs and services through various channels.
• Performs regular safety inspections of pools and equipment to reduce hazards and to provide maximum safety to the patrons.
• Represents the Meadows Club in the swim community and serves as point of contact for any outside groups.
