Position Summary:
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing and overseeing the quality of construction activities on-site. This role ensures that all construction work meets the required standards, project specifications and is completed within the established schedule and budget. The Superintendent works closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to maintain high-quality construction standards and safety on the job site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Oversight:
o Supervise and monitor the work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
o Conduct regular inspections of construction activities to ensure that work is performed according to contract requirements and safety regulations.
o Coordinate with project managers and engineers to resolve any issues related to construction quality or safety.
2. Quality Assurance:
o Implement and maintain a comprehensive quality assurance plan for the construction project.
o Conduct inspections and tests to ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications and industry standards.
o Identify and document any quality issues or defects and work with contractors to implement corrective actions.
o Schedule and lead meetings with subcontractors and clients following preparatory phase, initial phase and follow-up phase meetings as applicable in a timely manner.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain detailed records of construction activities, including daily reports, inspection reports and quality control documentation.
o Prepare and submit reports on the progress, quality and safety of the construction project to project managers and stakeholders.
o Ensure all necessary documentation, such as permits and inspection certificates, is obtained and maintained.
4. Safety Management:
o Ensure that all construction activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
o Conduct safety inspections and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on the job site.
o Report any safety incidents or near-misses and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
5. Coordination and Communication:
o Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors and clients, to ensure project goals are met.
o Attend and participate in project meetings, providing updates on quality and safety issues.
o Communicate any changes or deviations from the project plan to the relevant parties and ensure proper documentation.
6. Training and Development:
o Provide training and guidance to on-site personnel on quality control procedures and safety protocols.
o Stay updated on industry best practices, construction techniques and regulatory changes, and share this knowledge with the team.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Must be either a citizen of the U.S. or a non-U.S. citizen who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence as evidenced by a Permanent Resident Card (USCIS I-551).
- OSHA 30, EM 385-1-1(preferred), USACE CQM(preferred) certification and CPR/1st Aid certification.
- Ability to successfully pass and remain in compliance with required background checks from Tribal 1 and any required federal government background checks.
- Must pass drug screen and remain in compliance with drug free workplace policies.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel to various construction sites located in Colorado (50-75% traveling).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand or sit for long periods of time, access roofs, crawl spaces and all construction areas.
Experience:
- Successful prior track record as a Superintendent on Federal government projects for a minimum of five (5) years.
- Experience executing Quality Control Plans that align with Government Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans and Performance Measures.
- Experience with writing, developing or modifying company and/or site-specific safety programs.

- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials and legal regulations.
- Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and agency specific regulations, including the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Competent with MS Office products (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Working Environment:
- This position requires primarily working on constructions sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and physical hazards.
- Travel may be required to various project locations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines.
