Overview
As the Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist, you will have an incredible impact as one of the first points of contact and first impression for all candidates. This position will play a significant role throughout the interviewing and onboarding process by shaping our company culture and finding individuals who embody our core values and customer-focused mission. Additionally, this position works with the Director to develop and implement both traditional and creative recruitment strategies to attract top talent to assure staffing needs are achieved.
Qualifications
- Associates/bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources, or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Two years of full life-cycle recruitment experience, preferably within a staffing agency or in high-volume recruiting environment required.
- Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adjust priorities accordingly to meet changing deadlines or priorities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong focus and attention to detail a must.
- Must be computer knowledgeable and demonstrate knowledge of applicant tracking systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
Responsibilities
- Actively communicates with the Director of HR on all recruitment strategies, suggestions for employment offers, contractual partnerships, recommendations, and overall guidance and assistance.
- Proactively find, recruit, prescreen, and carefully match qualified candidates to the correct position.
- Participate and develop long-range recruiting strategies by attending recruiting events, develop recruiting materials, job boards provider and industry-specific, and maintaining recruitment contacts for future consideration.
- Facilitate the hiring process, which includes interviewing and screening qualified candidates, coordinating interviews with hiring leadership, and onboarding new employees.
- Builds relationships by acting as the primary contact and communicating regulatory guidelines with the new employees before onboarding, including sending welcome emails and other communications to keep the candidate informed about onboarding progression and plans for their start.
- Utilize the applicant tracking system to manage jobs and candidate workflow and generate recruitment reports and metrics.
- Ensure that all administrative and logistical issues have been addressed prior to the start date, including organization readiness and online training.
- Administers employment processing for onboarders, including but not limited to completion of criminal background, reference, and motor vehicle checks, and drug screening, with accurate results relative to job requirements prior to new employee start date.
- Maintains required employee records and documentation to ensure compliance.
- Ensures compliance with departmental and company-established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
