Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care while maintaining patient flow.
- Accurately perform and document vital assessments (e.g., vital signs, weight, height) and promptly report any abnormalities
- Enter patient information, including medical history and chief complaints, into Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Provide patient education materials and address questions in coordination with nursing staff
- Conduct Depression and Tobacco Screening questionnaires, alerting providers to any positive responses
- Conduct venipuncture for blood specimen collection while adhering to safety protocols
- Manage front desk registration and ensure accurate patient demographic information
- Utilize Health Information Technology efficiently for documentation and retrieval of patient information
- Ensure a clean, safe, and therapeutic work environment, complying with infection control protocols
- Schedule appointments and manage communication regarding missed appointments and abnormal test results
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- BLS certificate
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Experience in an Ambulatory Care setting preferred
