Job Summary
The Pricing Manager role will work closely with the Director, Pricing Strategy, in all analytical responsibilities towards price guidance optimization for current business. The role will manage a team of analysts supporting current book-of-business activities. Oversee the day-to-day team operations and goals while working closely with product divisions and sales. Set and execute pricing strategy and ensure alignment across key stakeholders. Stay up to date on market trends, identify improvement opportunities and provide data-driven pricing recommendations, while considering qualitative business factors.Key Responsibilities
- Primary Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for various stakeholders, including sales, around price renewal activities.
- Pricing Analysis: Analyze existing pricing across all market sectors, identify price/volume trends to highlight discrepancies and set expectations relative to a market segment.
- Competitive Landscape: Develop a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape and major players.
- Evaluation and Recommendations: Evaluate the effectiveness of executed pricing strategies to ensure goals are met, and identify pricing opportunities on certain categories and/or product lines, proposing actionable recommendations.
- System Maintenance: Maintain accuracy of calculations within applicable systems and applications.
- Presentation and Communication: Present strategy, timelines, and expectations plans as it relates to the pricing renewal process, serving as an expert for responsible function and providing project oversight, coaching, and mentoring to pricing analysts.
- Management Responsibilities: Manage employees, oversee day-to-day operations, interpret and execute policies, develop new policies, and provide general guidelines and parameters for staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics/Applied Statistic, or similar.
- Experience: At least 4 years of related experience.
- Microsoft Excel: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including vlookups, pivot tables, and working with large data sets.
- Microsoft PowerPoint: Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint, including applying themes, formatting character spacing, and inserting pictures.
- Data Analysis: Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions, and driving improvement of results and finding solutions.
- Communication and Presentation: Strong communication skills, ability to effectively present to target audience, and proven track record of developing and delivering presentations to various types and sizes of audiences.
- Problem-Solving and Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated proficiency working in fast-paced work environments, strategic thinking, problem-solving mindset, strong business acumen, and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Statistical Models: Experience with statistical models, price/volume analysis, elasticity analysis, financial models.
- SAP Experience: SAP experience.
- SQL Experience: SQL experience.
- Management Experience: At least 1 year of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
