Works under supervision of the Director, applies coats of paint, wallcoverings, varnish, stains,
enamels or lacquer to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures of
the hospital, using paint brushes, rollers, scrapers and wallpaper tools.
This position is located at Macomb Oakland Hospital Warren Campus - Warren, MI.
Performs proper repairs to surfaces before applying finishes (sand, patch, mud, scrape etc.).
- Maintains proper stock of paints, colors, thinners, patching plaster, brushes, scrapers, sandpaper,
- Performs proper maintenance to equipment, both hand and mechanical.
- Responsible for maintaining housekeeping of supply cabinets and work areas.
- Demonstrates in all duties and responsibilities a warm, humanistic attitude toward patients, their
- Participate in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.
- Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:.
- Must have up to date working knowledge of techniques and application of paints, enamels, varnishes,
- Must be familiar with mixing and blending of colors and preparing surfaces for paint.
- Must have knowledge of safety regulations regarding the layout, use and storage of paints and
- Must have working knowledge of spray methods of painting.
- Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, crouch and kneel.
- Must be able to lift tools, material and equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Must have the ability to paint at a minimum rate of 240 square feet per hour.
