What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Supervisor position at MEK Group LLC?
A large but growing company (over 9,000 employees) with headquarters in Pittsburgh is searching for a Payroll Supervisor to join their expanding team.
Candidates with strong payroll experience and management, with ADP and Kronos would be ideal.
The top skills/duties for this role include:
- Supervise a team of 6 people processing weekly payroll for salary and hourly employees
- Support the payroll manager with hands-on management of the team to ensure payroll issues are addressed and resolved timely
- Prepare and process payroll for salary, weekly and biweekly employees.
- Determine and correct out-of-balance conditions to ensure accurate payroll entries.
- Process Multi-State, Union, Hourly and Salary payroll utilizing ADP software.
- Communication with company offices and divisions to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of payroll.
- Input time, material and expenses into appropriate software system.
- Process bank transactions, Paycard funding and direct deposit reversals.
- Proactively research and resolve issues that arrive by reviewing time-cards, communicating with employees and following up with specific offices.
- Analyze and reconcile payroll reports and work with accounting department to resolve out-of-balance reconciliations.
The Payroll team works in a team environment and help each other as needed.
This position will be a hybrid (office/home) role, if desired, once the process is understood.
Requirements
- 1 - 4 years of payroll supervisory experience
- 5 - 10 years experience processing payroll for hourly employees.
- Experience with processing multi-state payroll.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills dealing with internal and external customers.
- ADP or Kronos experience is required.
