Qualifications

- Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examination, explaining the need for breast compression during mammography.
- Performs radiography of pathologic breast specimens.
- Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
- Ensures all requested examinations are completed prior to releasing patient.
- Maintains quality control and quality assurance in the assigned division.
- Evaluates mammograms or other breast images for technical quality, assuring proper identification required documentation is recorded.
- Performs daily required quality control activities and reports equipment malfunctions, as required.
- Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available by a licensed practitioner.
- Applies principals of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
- Participates in quality assessment and improvement plan. May be responsible for specific quality control duties in assigned areas.
- Communicates patient/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider.
- Provides patient education, including breast self-examination techniques.
- Provides appropriate follow-up on mammography procedures as required by ACR and FDA guidelines.
- Communicates variances and/or significant events to appropriate caregiver in a timely manner.
- Communicates with members of other disciplines to assure efficient quality patient care.
Education: Associate's Degree from an accredited radiology program
