Maintenance Supervisor Duties :
Reporting to the Plant Manager this person will supervise and performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on facilities, infrastructure, utility systems, equipment and storage tanks. Assigns department employees to applicable tasks and monitors progress and completions. Ensures equipment, facilities and procedures comply with local, state and federal regulations and laws. Conducts plant and process engineering, plans and installs new equipment, systems, processes and related modifications into the plant.
Supervises and performs carpentry, plumbing, welding, fabrication, chemical delivery system repair and limited electrical repair. Periodically conducts fire control and above ground storage tank inspections, performs limited lift truck servicing, troubleshooting and repair. Accurately documents all maintenance actions, maintains a clean working environment by following all housekeeping policies and standards; and maintains a safe working environment by following all rules, regulations and policies along with assisting in managing the spare parts inventory to ensure up-time performance of equipment.
Minimum Requirements :
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Extensive experience in construction, plumbing, pipe fitting, welding, chemical delivery systems, pumps, batch processing equipment, industrial electrical systems, process controls, and / or computer equipment
- 5 years maintenance supervisory experience
- Current forklift certification training
- Low voltage / PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred.
- 5 years of chemical manufacturing and warehouse experience highly preferred
- Possess computer skills
Physical Conditions :
Work performed is very physical in nature. Routine bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying materials and supplies, typically weighting 50 pounds or more. Manual dexterity is required to operate tools, machinery, forklifts, and controls.
Working Conditions :
Special safety requirements may apply when working in a plant environment or outdoors. May be exposed to or required to handle hazardous materials. May work in temperature and weather extremes.
