Authorization Specialist

We are searching for a reliable and dedicated Bilingual Authorization Specialist for a temporary position with the possibility to move into part-time/full-time role for our growing Oncology office.

Responsibilities:

• Submit clinical documentation for authorization of various high cost pharmaceuticals, radiopharmaceuticals, and off-label chemotherapy regimens
• Collaborate as part of an inter-disciplinary team related to the previously mentioned processes
• Serve as a clinical resource to the Revenue Cycle & Billing Compliance team
• Collaborate with the Prior Authorization Manager to review and appeal rejected claims in a timely fashion
• Assist in the Revenue Integrity Specialist with prior authorization denials
• Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care.
• Uses, protects, and discloses protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
• Anticipates the physicians needs and carries out orders
• Checks for patients' arrival status and escorts patients to exam rooms
• Obtains, records, and reports vital signs and information for Physician
• Able to properly code ICD 10
• Answers, directs, and follows up on incoming calls
• Distributes incoming correspondence (faxes, consult notes, test results, etc.)
• Assists practice manager with office tasks related to patient care

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of Auth experience in Oncology preferred
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to work in high level and fast paced environment
• Great customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organized & detail oriented
• Bilingual preferred
