Job Summary:
The Housing Solutions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and motivating a team of approximately 5-7 Housing Solutions Case Managers while maintaining a small caseload of 5-7 clients. This role involves conducting ongoing needs assessments, developing personal housing stability and service plans, providing implementation and support, offering information and referrals, and advocating for individuals in the Mercy House Housing Solutions Program. The Housing Solutions Supervisor is expected to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients to help them increase their self-reliance. This position plays a key role in recognizing and promoting positive behavior changes, while also identifying and addressing obstacles that may undermine clients’ self-reliance and housing stability. The supervisor will ensure that clear, accurate records are maintained and that trauma-informed, client-focused strategies are practiced by the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Client/Service Delivery:
- Manage a caseload of 5-7 clients, meeting their needs and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Utilize harm reduction strategies and client-centered methodologies to support clients in maintaining housing.
- Apply crisis prevention and intervention techniques as necessary.
- Support clients in building on their strengths while acknowledging their needs in a respectful manner.
- Conduct visits and apartment inspections to ensure proper maintenance.
- Stay informed about community resources and make referrals as needed.
- Foster and facilitate positive relationships between clients and their landlords/caretakers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, including individual service plans, emergency plans, case notes, and other documentation in Cal Optima Connect.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork to secure agency payments from various sources.
Team Management:
- Supervise approximately 5-7 Housing Solutions Case Managers, promoting optimal team performance.
- Demonstrate leadership and team-building skills, ensuring alignment with the agency’s mission, values, and service quality.
- Train and guide new Case Managers, assisting with day-to-day tasks and job-related questions.
- Conduct quarterly quality control checks of case files to ensure they are up-to-date and accurate.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to Case Managers.
- Coordinate and lead trainings and orientations as needed.
- Conduct bi-monthly or as-needed one-on-one meetings with designated staff.
- Facilitate team meetings on a bi-monthly basis or as necessary.
- Perform 90-day probation and annual performance reviews for Case Managers.
- Approve Absence from Work requests and ensure proper documentation.
- Review and approve staff Paycom submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely submission per HR deadlines.
- Approve and monitor monthly mileage reimbursement requests.
- Review and track monthly invoices to ensure accurate reporting.
- Manage the after-hours cellphone for program staff, providing on-call coverage as required.
Miscellaneous:
- Assist the Program Manager in overseeing daily operations for the CalAIM Program in their absence.
- Attend staff and community meetings as directed by the Program Manager or Regional Director.
- Participate in relevant training to enhance knowledge of client needs and service delivery.
- Show willingness to learn about Adult Rehabilitative, Mental Health Services, and Substance Abuse Treatments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field, with preference given to candidates with experience in recovery, mental health, and co-occurring disorders.
- Candidates with less than a Bachelor’s degree but at least 2 years of direct experience working with long-term homeless, low-income, and diverse populations, along with a working knowledge of mental health and addiction issues, are encouraged to apply.
- High level of tolerance and understanding when working with individuals who present urgent, multiple case management and health needs.
- Management experience is highly valued.

- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to provide clear instructions.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
