Schedule 2: Tues-Sat 1-9pm
Schedule 3: Fri-Mon 5:30am-1:30pm, Thurs 7am-3pm
Introduction: The Emergency Services Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting guests to and from the Emergency Shelter Program. This includes operating and maintaining shuttle vehicles to ensure secure and efficient transportation. In addition to driving, the Shuttle Driver will support shelter operations during non-driving hours. The position requires a flexible work schedule while following a structured framework, with the individual reporting to the Driver Supervisor or Program Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Driving, Reporting, and Shelter Support:
- Safely operate program vehicles to assigned locations
- Ensure safety restraints are properly functioning and used when necessary
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and organization
- Safely load and unload guests, ensuring their safety during transport
- Operate hydraulic wheelchair lifts when required
- Plan and document daily routes, considering various drop-off points
- Submit daily and weekly route and maintenance reports to management
- Adapt to changing transportation needs while meeting program goals
- Collaborate with a partner on vehicle maintenance issues
Shelter Support:
- Assist with shelter-related tasks such as meal service, laundry, trash removal, and cleanliness
Miscellaneous:
- Attend required staff meetings
- Participate in necessary training workshops
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications:
- Clean, unrestricted driving record
- Comfortable driving large vehicles (typically 24' in length) with wide turning radii
- Skilled in working with diverse groups of people
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for clear instructions and important information
- Ability to create a positive, professional, and safe environment
- Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining working relationships
- Patience and understanding when assisting individuals in need of urgent case management or health support
- Ability to stay focused and drive safely in potentially distracting environments
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet browsing (preferred)
- Reliability, responsibility, and respectful communication
- Knowledge of motor vehicle and engine maintenance (a plus)
- Valid Class C Driver's License
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
