Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with the ability to respond to crises as necessary.

Job Summary:
The Housing Solutions Supervisor is responsible for leading and motivating 5-8 Housing Solutions Case Managers while maintaining a small caseload. This role involves conducting needs assessments, creating and implementing housing stability and service plans, offering support, referrals, and advocacy for residents in the Housing Solutions program. The supervisor ensures positive behavior change, identifies obstacles to housing stability, and promotes trauma-informed, client-focused strategies within the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Client/Service Delivery

  • Maintain a caseload of 5-7 clients, meeting their needs in compliance with grant requirements.
  • Use harm reduction interventions to provide client-centered services and maintain housing stability.
  • Apply crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
  • Support residents in identifying their strengths and needs in a respectful manner.
  • Inspect resident apartments to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Stay informed about community resources and make appropriate referrals.
  • Facilitate relationship-building between clients and landlords/caretakers.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date case files, including stabilization plans and case notes.
  • Complete paperwork promptly to ensure payment from funding sources.
  • Assist with data collection systems as required.

Team Management

  • Supervise 5-7 Housing Solutions Case Managers, fostering high performance.
  • Lead and build team cohesion to implement the agency's mission and core values.
  • Train and guide new Case Managers and assist with day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Conduct quarterly quality control of case files to ensure accuracy and currency.
  • Provide support and guidance to Case Managers when necessary.
  • Coordinate trainings and orientations as needed.
  • Meet individually with staff at least monthly and with the entire team monthly.
  • Conduct 90-day, midyear, and annual performance reviews.
  • Approve staff Absence from Work requests and Paycom submissions on time.
  • Approve monthly mileage reimbursement requests.

Miscellaneous

  • Assist the Program Manager in overseeing social and recreational activities to foster community involvement and peer support.
  • Support the Program Manager in connecting residents with services such as employment, education, tutoring, and mentoring.
  • Attend staff and community meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in relevant trainings to enhance knowledge in areas such as co-occurring disorders, harm reduction, and cultural competence.
  • Stay informed on Adult Rehabilitative, Mental Health Services, and Substance Abuse Treatments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (or related field) preferred, with experience in recovery, mental health, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Candidates without a BA/BS but with at least 2 years of experience working with long-term homeless, low-income, and diverse populations, and knowledge of mental health and addiction issues, are encouraged to apply.
  • High tolerance and understanding for individuals with urgent, complex needs.
  • Management experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, plan, organize, and prioritize tasks, and perform crisis intervention.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and safe environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
  • Dependability, responsibility, and effective communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy required.
  • Valid California driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
