Patient Services Coordinator (PRSS Certified)

Essential Duties and Competencies
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Training all new RS staff on admissions process.
- Participate in the morning huddle.
- Monitor wait list
- Coordinating and participating in the Patient Advisory Committee.
- Alumni Event coordination.
- Coordinating and participating in the Alumni Service Call tasks.
- Backing up the Access Team as needed due to vacations and illnesses.
- Coordinating tours of the facility
- Coordinating communication with patients as they travel to the facility, helping with directions and arrival instructions and communicating with Access Team to confirm arrival and filling them in about late arrivals.
- Offering your contact info to family members as they drop off patients.
- DAANES oversight.
- Coordinating and conducting New Patient Orientation Meetings.
- Compiling patient survey and suggestion box information to maintain best practices.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-directed, able to take initiative and exercise independent judgment
- Ability to problem solve and independently offer solutions and recommendations to administrative and office/operations problems
- Resourceful with ability to work either in a team environment, or autonomously, with little or no supervision
- Excellent organizational skills with flexibility in handling assignments; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Disciplined accuracy, timeliness and excellent follow-up skills are essential
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation with the ability to interact with staff and visitors professionally, as well as the ability to work with a diverse population
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with staff members and field personnel
- Willingness and ability to develop working knowledge of Meridian Behavioral Health business and facilities in support of the position and Company goals and initiatives
- Mature judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Demonstrated proficiency utilizing a variety of software packages including the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); ability to learn and become proficient in other computer programs, including customized programs
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification, through MN Certification Board (MCB) required
- In recovery from Substance Use Disorder is required
- Receive ongoing supervision in areas specific to the domains of the recovery peer's role by an alcohol and drug counselor or an individual with a certification approved by the commissioner-MBH will provide this.
- A minimum of two-year freedom from chemical abuse problems is required
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- A minimum of two years experience in the field of mental and chemical health, including crisis response is preferred
- A minimum of one year of experience in behavioral health intake and/or admissions is highly desire
- Knowledge of behavioral health precertification and managed care systems access required
- Must know and understand the implication of parts 9530.6615 (Rule 25), 9530.6405 to 9530.6505 (Rule 31), and Minnesota Statutes, chapter 245A (Human Services Licensing Act-HSLA), sections 626.556 (Maltreatment of Minors Act-MOMA), 626.557 (Vulnerable Act-VAA), and 626.5572 (VAA definitions)
- CPR and first aid certified
