What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Meridian Management?
Experience: One (1) year of recent experience performing in a similar position as proposed for the subject project. Good health and at least average physical strength are needed to meet sustained physical labor requirements. Must be able to pass criminal background checks and pre-employment drug screening.
Work Environment: Work is performed in partially controlled temperature, which includes dust, chemical fumes, and wet floors. Physical duties will require the ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs. of cleaning equipment, with repeated sweeping, bending, and reaching motions. Will use mechanical and motorized equipment and personal protective equipment as needed.
Hours of Work: We have 2 Buildings in Covington
KENT: Kenton County Justice Center 230 Madison Ave. Covington KY 41011 ~ Tour of Duty: Monday thru Friday 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
KCAB: Kenton County Admin Building 1840 Simon Kenton Way Covington KY 41011 ~ Tour of Duty: Monday thru Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Duties and Responsibilities: Perform cleaning tasks of assigned areas following schedules and routes using prescribed methods to complete daily checklist. Reports discrepancies, repairs, and building issues to supervisor or manager.
-Daily cleaning tasks include but are not limited to:
-Dry mop, sweep, sanitize, dust, and wet mops floors.
-Dusts horizontal surfaces, high dusting (light fixtures, AC diffusers, return air grills, file shelves, window sills, and door frames).
-Empty wastebaskets and trash cans and debris from collection points and transport them to the compactor/pick-up area.
-Vacuum carpet areas, shampoo stained spots when needed.
-Cleans and polishes metal and porcelain surfaces in bathrooms, elevators, break areas, kitchens, windows, and water fountains.
-Replenishes restroom supplies, disinfects, and cleans restroom surfaces. ( scrub toilets, urinals, counters, floors, mirrors, partitions)
-Moves and replaces furniture and equipment.
-Perform operator-level maintenance and services to maintain and organize assigned tools and equipment, (i.e. replace vacuum brushes and bags, rollers, buffer pads, and other attachments), communicates repair needs to superior and keep equipment clean.
-Work as a team to accomplish daily tasks with co-workers, we help each other and succeed together
-Performs other duties as required or directed by management.
