Position Overview
As a Production Planner / Scheduler at Mermet, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling all phases of production, including coating, warping, and weaving, to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality fabric to our customers.
This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to anticipate and resolve production challenges.
You will collaborate closely with various departments to optimize workflow, manage inventory levels, and maintain production schedules.
What you'll do
- Plan, schedule and coordinate all production departments to ensure customer demand is met in a timely manner
- Communicate and provide order priorities to production / operations team
- Provide accurate availability dates to Customer Service team
- Serve as a subject matter experts for scheduling in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Microsoft AX, and the planning software (JUST Weaving)
- Work with Production Planning Supervisor and Controller to minimize production variances via periodic review of Bills of Materials in ERP system
- Assist the Production Planning Supervisor with special customer needs and requests
- Handle disruption and report production status to the operations team and relevant departments
- Promptly inform all involved departments of changes to the current production schedule
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor
Who you are
- Minimum High School Diploma with 10 years of experience in Production / Scheduling
- Minimum 5 years of experience with an Associate's Degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Critical thinking
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in fast-paced environments
- Good organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel), including data analysis, pivot tables, and understanding complex formulas, and to effectively manage and interpret data
- Experience with ERP Systems (a plus if you have worked with Microsoft AX) Microsoft Dynamic AX and experience working with a Manufacturing Execution System ( MES )
- Strong attention to detail
