This position is an event-style project position designed to train and equip you with the tools, experience and talents that are required to become a valuable team-member with Merrell Bros., Inc. The biosolids industry is very unique and requires a variety of skills to efficiently operate our equipment.
A major component of this position is flexibility. Being willing to fill any role, at any time is what allows you to gain experience. This is what makes our co-workers an extremely valuable asset to our team.
Belt Press Operator operates dewatering equipment a majority of the time, including belt-presses and centrifuges. As you become acclimated with our process, this will extend to other equipment including dredges, excavation equipment, and equipment that is common on event-style projects. A Belt Press Operator will be involved in the operation of various pieces of equipment to learn how each piece operates, its applications, and its production rates as well as the proper maintenance protocol. Merrell Bros., Inc. owns and operates over 600 pieces of equipment so this portion of the training will take some time. Some of the types of equipment are as follows:
- Mechanical Dewatering Equipment (belt filter press, centrifuge, polymer systems)
- Pumps (centrifugal, hydraulic submersible, lagoon pumps, rotary lobe pumps, etc)
- Hydraulic & Mechanical Dredging
- Excavation Equipment (skid steer, etc)
- Electrical Equipment & Controls (single phase, three phase, AC, DC & generators)
Merrell Bros., Inc. is a national biosolids management company. We operate, manage and complete projects across the entire country. With this comes a requirement to travel. Our operators travel on average ~ 300 nights per year. This is spread out over the entire year, however, this is still a substantial amount of travel that needs to be considered before accepting this position. We also work on most Saturdays with an average of 65 to 70 hours per week.

Requirements
- Critical thinking skills and strong communication
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver License
- Willingness to obtain CDL
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Desire to travel over 300 days per year
- Prior Project work preferred
- Prior commercial driving, heavy/agriculture equipment operation a plus!
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
