What are the responsibilities and job description for the Document Control Coordinator position at Merrill Steel, Inc.?
SUMMARY
Collects, organizes and distributes documents required to fabricate and erect structural steel. Works closely with other departments to ensure that work performed by the Document Control department meets the requirements of the Company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for collecting and organizing all documents including but not limited to design drawings, specifications, field use drawings, fabrication drawings, CNC files and part drawings.
· Responsible for compliance with all project contract requirements, applicable codes, Merrill Quality Manual, Quality Procedure, and industry best practices.
· Responsible for consistent electronic file and folder naming of all documents in an organized system. Drawings must be easily accessible to all Merrill Steel employees.
· Responsible for generating transmittals for all incoming & outgoing documents
· Responsible for receiving and logging all incoming documents in StruMIS
· Uploading and downloading files from various customer document management software such as SharePoint, Procore, InEight, Autodesk Construction Cloud BIM360 and Aconex.
· Coordinating with Project Managers and subcontractors for the distributions of drawings.
· All other duties as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or GED.
· Two years of experience in document control.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Highly organized and detail oriented.
· Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Teams)
· Strong communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
