Engineering Manager

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Engineering Manager is to plan, organize, and direct all aspects of engineering in order to meet company objectives including new product development and improvement of existing product lines. The Engineering Manager shall also ensure accuracy in regards to pump and parts design, as well as drawings and documentation associated with the fabrication and assembly processes, all while ensuring the engineering team is able to meet required deadlines. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct all engineering projects and processes, ensuring quality, accuracy and timely completion 
• Partner with the General Manager, Production Manager, and Quality Manager to review and monitor quality and identify process improvements on new product development 
• Partner with the production team to resolve issues, implement processes and meet product release schedules 
• Provide engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, prints, specifications, product maintenance, raw materials and purchased products within Global Pump and across the organization as required 
• Review specifications and data sheets to ensure requirements are adequately defined, documented, and regularly updated in internal systems 
• Oversee preparation and provision of product drawings for marketing department as required 
• Develop and implement engineering policies and procedures which align with company as well as ISO standards 
• Assist with development of internal quality control processes as well as vendor product reviews 
• Build, develop, and manage an engineering team capable of completing required engineering initiatives

• Provide technical support to manufacturing and sales staff  Complete other engineering tasks and responsibilities as identified and requested

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field 
• At least 5 years' experience in managing an Engineering Department, or equivalent management experience in a related field 
• Skilled in 3D CAD modeling of complex geometry, preferably in SolidWorks 
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD 
• Proficiency in creating manufacturing drawings for cast parts, machined parts, or welded parts 
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings 
• Experience with bills of materials creation 
• Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects 
• Proficient in MS Office and other required PC software applications Specific Expectations

• Ability to travel to branches and distributors as required
