Job Description Summary
The Service Technician (Suppression) is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire suppression systems in various facilities. This role is vital in safeguarding lives and property by installing, inspecting, and maintaining fire suppression systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Service calls: conduct periodic service calls at Fire Departments conducting preventative maintenance services on 3M/Scott Safety SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and SCBA-related equipment.
- Flow-testing: certify the equipment works properly and to the required standards
- Installation: Install, repair, and maintain fire suppression systems following industry standards and local regulations.
- Inspection and Testing: Conduct routine inspections and tests of fire suppression systems to ensure proper functioning. Identify and rectify any issues or malfunctions promptly.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot problems in fire suppression systems,
- Compliance: Ensure all installed systems comply with relevant fire codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, repairs, and installations. Generate reports as needed for clients, authorities, or internal use.
- Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to explain the status of their fire suppression systems, address concerns, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in fire suppression systems is preferred.
- Relevant experience in installing, inspecting, and maintaining fire suppression systems.
- Knowledge of local fire codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment/systems, small engine repair, firefighting equipment, cabling experience, work as a mechanic, electrician, or previous experience with hydraulics.
- Familiarity with 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment is a plus, but we will train!

Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
- Manual dexterity to work with small parts
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
