Messina is seeking a Quality Assurance Documentation Specialist for a contract role in Silverton, OR. This position will maintain the Supplier Quality Management (SQM) program, manage the services program, and ensure supplier performance is monitored.
Objectives of the Position / Food Safety Responsibility:
Responsible for maintaining Supplier Quality Management (SQM) program. The program employs risk management principles and keeps pace with requirements and expectations.
Approve and monitor external suppliers (e.g., through questionnaire approvals, purchase specifications, the relevant risk assessments and the follow-up of the Suppliers' nonconformities).
Examples of Documents reviewed are but not limited to:
- Allergen statements
- Kosher and Halal certificates.
- Food Product Specifications
- Packaging Specifications
- Certificates of Analysis
- Food Safety Certifications
- Other related documents.
Collaborate closely with the team of Silverton, in particular the quality and purchasing teams, to ensure a good performance from the external suppliers.
Update of supplier approval documentation.
Maintain Kosher and Halal Programs
Maintain Management of Services Program
Assist and perform duties related to other quality-related programs.
May take on other duties at the discretion of management.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in science-related field or four years of experience in a laboratory or quality setting.
- Must have demonstrated abilities in written and oral communication.
- Preferred experience in document review
- Must be able to perform general office duties including data entry and filing.
- Must have interpersonal and analytical skills
- The person in this position must have the ability to solve problems, prioritize, follow through on multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a safe, efficient manner, abiding by all safety-related policies and procedures.
This position reports to the QA Manager in Silverton, OR.
