The Plant Controller plays a critical role in oversight, monitoring and analyzing the companys financial results. This individual will be responsible for tracking, recording, and analyzing manufacturing plant accounting activities for our Northern, AR facilities. Preparation of reports and financial statements, performing analysis of accounting documents and reports, and preparing and posting journal entries. Providing valuable insights to senior management for decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of general accounting and financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as subject matter expert for general and manufacturing plant accounting.
- Maintain, manage, and analyze financial statements monthly, quarterly and annually; and verify all activity is property coded.
- Complete month-end accounting close activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of financial data.
- Complete Balance Sheet analysis.
- Perform cash management activities and reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial package to include financial statements, variance analysis, and key indicators.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis of budget-to-actual and provide guidance to manage results more effectively.
- Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators for tracking business results.
- Research and approve new vendors and create new vendor accounts.
- Perform full cycle accounts payable from receipt of invoice through payment and reconciliation; address vendor payment inquiries.
- Review and audit all invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, account coding, and approval for payment; analyze for consistency, if recurring.
- Create and maintain system data and all system records/lists/master for Entities and Vendors.
- Post receivables and internal transfers.
- Accounts receivable analysis
- Administer, manage, monitor and track collection process for delinquencies and payment plans.
- Maintain Fixed Assets
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and financial regulations.
- Assist and support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and reports as needed.
- Work closely with the production, purchasing, and operations teams to understand revenue/cost drivers and help optimize processes.
- Provide guidance and support to senior management and other departments.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and manufacturing plant accounting trends.
- Development, implement, and administer various operational and accounting policies and procedures. Recommend new or revised policies and procedures as needed.
- Proactively identify areas for process improvement and work on enhancing reporting systems and tools.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or related roles. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding and application of cost accounting principles, including job order costing, absorption costing, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Professional interpersonal skills, appearance, and attitude.
- Experience with cost management systems and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or specialized manufacturing software).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- The ability to explain accounting positions and financial and industry trends briefly and clearly.
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities and multiple expectations.

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes; particularly injection molding, is highly preferred.
