Fine Dining Bartender
REPORTS TO: General Manager, Clubhouse Manager, Beverage Director, Director of Dining Services, Dining Room Captain
JOB SUMMARY: Provide food and beverage service to club members and guests
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensures bar is set up correctly, and ready for service
· Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating
· Professionally takes food and beverage orders from members/guests
· Provides knowledgeable wine service
· Knows current wine offerings and is adept at suggesting pairings
· Records order properly and places order into POS system, utilizing correct modifiers
· Ensures all food and beverages are delivered accurately, with appropriate garnishes, condiments, and side dishes
· Serves beverages following Metairie Country Club standards
· Checks back to ensure member/guest satisfaction
· Maintains bar cleanliness throughout service
· Removes soiled glassware and dishes promptly and efficiently
· Suggests and serves dessert and coffee
· Is responsible for obtaining the members signatures on chits and properly closing all chits at end of shift
· Advises Manager/Captain of any complaints as soon as they occur
· Is knowledgeable of all menu items, possible allergens, and nightly specials
· Tastes and memorizes special menu items and descriptions for each meal period
· Presents a friendly and helpful demeanor
· Responsible for assigned side work and cleaning duties
· Attends all pre-shift meetings
· Knows and abides by the operating policies of the club
· Assists others with tasks that may not normally be his/her responsibility
· Keeps aware of posted information on the bulletin board and is responsible for attending staff meetings
· Reports to Manager/Captain before taking a break or leaving the premises
· Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the Manager/Captain
· Must be capable of following directions
· Must possess good recall and memory
· Must be able to speak, read and write English
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent and one year fast paced, high volume restaurant operations experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
LICENSES AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
· Alcoholic beverage certification (LA Responsible Vendor Permit)
· Knowledge and ability to use computer POS (Jonas)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently walking distances of 10 to 30 ft., between various areas of restaurant. Frequently walking distances up to 500 ft.
- Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, reaching, twisting and balancing.
- Occasionally carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs.
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- Work in hot, humid and noisy environment.
